A Cup of Tea

There's nothing like a cup of tea savored with a friend,
A momentary pause, mid-day, or even at day's end;
Friendly reassurances that all's well with the world,
Despite the slings and arrows that others may have hurled,

A bit of gossip intertwined with moments of reflection,
Conversation shared with warmth and affection,
Are sometimes all it takes to make the difference in a day,
A potion for the heart brewed in just the right way.

So remember when your daily stress begins to test your mettle,
To call a friend and fire up that welcome friendship kettle,
'cause that's what friends are all about - to listen and to share,
A cup of tea that soothes the soul and helps to heal each care.
