Friend
Although we may have different views,
And traveled separate avenues,
We've been good friends for many years,
Sharing laughter and, yes, some tears.

You've listened, with patience, to my long sad tales,
And laughed at bad jokes when my light side prevails,
You've always made me feel special, somehow,
And judgments between us, you'd never allow.

Thoughtful and caring, you're such a good friend,
On you, I know I can always depend,
So accept this poem that comes straight from the heart,
For a wonderful friendship right from the start.
