Keeping the Joy

Christmas is a time
To love and to share
A season to give
And show how we care

A chance to express
The devotion we feel
To family and friends
What we may not reveal

While dashing about
Going here and there
Ruled by schedules and tasks
Throughout the year

So let’s take the time
On this blessed day
To share love from the heart
That is here to stay

With children and grandchildren
Our real gifts in life
Our relatives, close friends
Our husbands, our wives

~~~

Let’s be sure to remember
To let them all know
Their importance to us
By letting it show

~~~

Loving words, a hug
Some time well spent
Will make this season
A joyous event

~~~

And when the tree’s down
And the gifts put away
Let’s keep the joy going
All year, every day!
